In Piston Ring inspection system, vision sensor (F-150-3) is used identify the presence of rings in their exact position. In this System, a vision camera is used to capture the image to be analyzed. And a vision controller performs the image processing on captured image. Using programming console along with controller, the control outputs can be programmed for user requirement. Since the camera is a small frame shutter camera; we can achieve high pixel resolution. To hold the piston in it’s respective base position, a pneumatic cylinder will be provided in the top of the piston base. And also, to move all the five rings towards the face of the camera for better analysis, one more pneumatic cylinder will be provided to the opposite side of the camera face, which will not affect the vision capture operation. A motor will be provided to rotate the piston to detect the oil ring orientation change and alignment of ring edge position.
VISION SYSTEM F150
F150 series: The Real-time, Sub-pixel level, Gray-scale Visual Inspection System |
Vision system is an excellent tool, where the application is complex and solution is not possible by a general sensor. Our OMRON F150 vision system is user friendly by the following criteria.
- The dialog menu lets accomplish tasks certitude,
- The dialog menu guides you through operations with ease,
- Enhanced adjustment functions make fine adjustment possible after settings have been completed.
Features:
Sub Pixel Level Resolution
10 times the resolution than normal processors |
 |
 |
| Conventional Processor |
F150 with Sub-pixel level resolution |
Auto Menu / Expert Menu:
Fully automatic menu function, Absolutely NO programming required.
High-speed On-the-fly inspection
Equipped with electronic shutter, the F150-S1A camera can capture a crystal clear image at the speed of 10.000 part of a second.
23 Frames images memory function
This makes it possible to check the images for the kinds of defects that have been found, thus ensuring easy feedback to the production stages.
Rotation Position Compensation in X, Y and angle
Using the built-in high performance dedicated algorithms, F150 image processor automatically tracks the image within the camera field of view and calculates how much the object has deviated from its reference position in X, Y and angular direction. It is possible to calculate angular deviation up to 360-degree range. Due to this function, F150-3 processor can guarantee highest accuracy even if the objects keep shifting from its original position during inspection.
The machine can be operated both in Auto mode and in Manual mode.
Manual Mode Operation:
- Select manual mode through the selector switch provided on the control panel. Place the piston on the piston base and operate clamp selector switch.
- Move the light and ring pusher forward by operating the light forward and ring pusher forward selector switch for the first operation i.e all rings present and oil ring reverse. Press the controller trigger pushbutton for result. If any fault occurs, the respective red LED glows with buzzer alarms.
- The second operation i.e to check rings aligned follow the same procedure as mentioned above by accept the ring pusher. Keep on pressing the controller trigger pushbutton till the piston rotates complete 360 degree. The respective LED glows and buzzer alarms if any fault occurs.
- Once the test is over and you find no error indication mark the respective piston OK by operating marking selector switch. Press the machine reset pushbutton before starting the next cycle.
- The machine status indication lamps provided on top of the machine i.e yellow lamp glows for machine ready, green lamp glows for machine run and red lamp glows for alarm.
Auto mode operation:
- Select Auto mode through the selector switch provided on the control panel. The auto mode indication glows. Place the piston on the piston base close the door ensure all the cylinders are in home position and press gently the Tap switch.
- The clamp cylinder moves down and clamps the piston, light and ring pusher moves forward. Controller triggers first inspection, if no fault is observed then ring pusher goes back to home position.
Then the indexing starts for the another inspection i.e rings aligned for entire 360 degree. Motor stops at home position, if no fault is detected the cylinders goes back to home position. The marking cylinder gets ON for component OK marking and good piston indication comes ON.
If there is any fault detected during the above operations the cycle stops there and all the cylinders goes to home position with the respective fault indication on the control panel. |
